I'm not very inclined to blog at all, but seriously, I believe that deviantArt is a place for art, not for drama, and lately I have been getting sick of all the drama and the "popular within 24 hours" category. And, I have been getting sick of dA's popularity system. Not that I want the popularity, mind you, I don't mind having 3-digit pageview numbers at all! And if I do get the popularity, I don't want to be popular because of all the anime I post.

Which is something else I want to talk about--anime. It is a style that's a real pain to drop...not unlike an addiction, actually. I hate the style that I draw because it seems so shallow to me, most of the time, yet when I want to draw something realistic, my hand doesn't obey because it's too used to drawing ANIME. I am never really impressed by this genre anymore (which is why I'm not +favving it), even though I spend a great deal of time looking at it. To me, it's just eyecandy, but that's it. That's all it is.

Right now I am considering deleting everything in my gallery. Or maybe I'll just scrap everything and start posting more serious stuff now (I do a bit of surreal/fantasy work from time to time, though it's too rough to post). I think at one point I'm going to have to kick this anime style sooner or later (or at the very least, develop some other style as a fallback) so that I don't end up being trapped in this genre because it's all I can churn out.
